O'Conner's Out

Just heard the news on my way home: ABC Radio called it at 9:26 am EST. Blog pool: At what time will Chuck Schumer announce any replacement Bush names "out of the mainstream?"

Bush makes or breaks his presidency --and possibly America itself-- with this nominee in my view. Replacing Rehnquist w/ another Conservative is a wash; replacing O'Conner with a Conservative moves our ball down the field. I love the guy, but either he turns the court around or he dooms us.

Pray for O'Conner and her husband, by the way. He's very sick, and she's retiring to care for him.
