The Nine Robed Masters have ruled 6-3 to uphold Oregon's Right to Die law. More later after I've read the decision, but preliminarily: rights imply duties and a right to die (in Oregon, and elsewhere if it spreads) will soon morph into the duty to die as we all get comfortable thinking about the old or the weak not as persons with innate dignity, but as products of a cost/benefit analysis. There's a P.D. James novel about precisely this: The Children of Men.
