If It's News, Why Is It So Predictable?

Last night I read here that the presentations and discussions from the most recent of B16's annual meeting with his former students (the group Fr. Fessio's part of) were going to be published. Since the topic was creation and evolution, I thought to myself,
Headline: [Science-Hating, Galileo-Suppressing] Pope Doubts Evolution
Well, close: Pope Says Evolution Can't Be Proven. That because he makes the perfectly obvious observation that there's no way to provide a controlled environment to test evolutionary theory:
We cannot haul 10,000 generations into the laboratory.
"Disproving" evolution is neither his interest nor intent, however. A balanced headline would have been "Pope Explores Limits of Creation, Evolution," given that he writes:
The question is not to either make a decision for a creationism that fundamentally excludes science, or for an evolutionary theory that covers over its own gaps and does not want to see the questions that reach beyond the methodological possibilities of natural science
The body of the story's not so bad, though.
