"Long Live God!"

I think it was Malcolm Muggeridge who complained that his job as editor of Punch was becoming impossible after an Anglican bishop exclaimed at the curtain call of Jesus Christ Superstar (or maybe it was Godspell),

Long live God!

Beyond satire, right? What makes me think of this, you ask? Nothing in particular.
