Apparently there's a phenomenon called the "bromance." I think the word they're looking for is "friendship." That it seems new or remarkable says something about the condition of friendship in our culture I suppose. And what are we to make of the blithe assumption that one can be married or have a friend, but not both --that having a friend is a sign of not growing up? This reveals an impoverished understanding of both marriage and friendship. Someone needs to read The Four Loves.
