Free Concert

Just got an email from a CUA student who's also a violinist, one Anthony Marini. He's giving a recital for which he'd like to have a sizable audience (and if he's a reader of this blog, he must necessarily be a person of sizable talent and taste). It is to be

a concert of music for violin and piano (Francis Conlon on piano), and all of the works are fantasies, hence the title of the recital, "Violin Fantasies." It's a free event, and would be a great opportunity not only to hear some music that isn't played very often (such as Villa-Lobos' "Sonata-fantasie No. 1")
It's being held at the JP II Cultural Center, and if you come for the recital you can explore the galleries too.

Those of you in my neck of the woods, here are the details. The Pope John Paul II Cultural Center is 3900 Harewood Rd NE, Washington, DC. Their phone number is 202-635-5400. If you have further questions, you can email Mr. Marini directly: 11marini AT cua.edu
