The Deck Needed Some Greenery

A wild series of thunderstorms blew through the area last night, the first of which deposited this tree branch on the deck. We lucked out: doesn't appear to have damaged anything, and we were going to have to have it down anyway because it was growing into a phone line. Driving home from an event last night, my friend and I had to change routes four times. All the major arteries home were blocked either by downed trees or terrible accidents. So many felled trees and power outages, the county canceled school --which was only fair after a no-snow-day winter. And no tomato plants were harmed, which is all that concerns me, yard-wise. Usually a wild storm is cleansing and a period of fresh, cool air follows. This storm blew in hot and steamy. Summer all of a sudden.
