Premium Nostalgia Tea

|
My sister recently accompanied her Russian friend to a specialty store in Seattle to pick up Russian treats, which she then imported here to DC. Behold.

This looks even worse live. It is not, however, dog food. It's sunflower seed paste --the Russian version of halva or Spanish torron. My brother-in-law gives it an "A" for flavor, but an "F" for presentation.

Can you read the tag-line on the Czar Nicholas tea?
Maybe the whole Russian character is caused by tea?

Although actually my sister's friend says
all they drank growing up in Moscow was this Indian stuff.

Sis brought Russian chocolate --which has bubbles in it-- too, but the Indian guests she hosted last night ate it all. Probably a fair exchange, tea for chocolate. Although my kids aren't thrilled about getting only the dog food.
