Grocery check-out yesterday afternoon. Two clerks --African-American gals, I'd put them both in their 20s-- are chatting excitedly and positively about Sarah Palin and the latest polls.
I've never heard clerks talk politics in this neck of the woods in all my born days. And this is P.G. County, MD, where no one votes Republican by local ordinance. Freaky.
