al-Qaeda Founder Repudiates al-Qaeda

|
Sayyid Imam al-Sharif, also known as Dr. Fadl, is one of the founders of al-Qaeda. For insurgent activity against Egypt, he's been serving time in a a Cairo prison and thinking and writing. In 2007 he wrote a book saying the jihadists of al-Qaeda have lost their way. Which triggered a furious response from Osama bin Laden deputi Ayman al-Zawahri.

Now Dr. Fadl has penned a response to that response in which he points out that al-Qaeda has managed to cause two Islamic states to fall, supposedly in the name of Muslim domination of the world. Cliff May has the story.

Truly astonishing, he thinks al-Qaeda has become worse than Israel:
The number of Muslims whose death and dispossession al Qaeda has caused in a number of years, in Kenya, Afghanistan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Pakistan, and elsewhere, is far greater than the number killed or dispossessed by Israel in Palestine and neighboring countries in 60 years. So all the talk of al Qaeda defending Muslims is a tall tale.
Now if only we could get Hillary Clinton to admit as much, we'd be cooking with gas.

I should really write RTWT and leave it at that, but I can't resist quoting this just for fun:
[T]o cross the ocean to go to your enemy in its own home and destroy one of its buildings, and [in retaliation] it destroys the Taliban state - and then you claim to be a mujahid - only an idiot would do such a thing."
Let's keep this in mind too, all you who don't think victory in Iraq is important:
Dr. Fadl provides what may be a key insight into how we should fight this war. He says that whenever infidels defeat Muslims, there can be only one explanation: Allah has allowed that as a punishment for the Muslims' sins.
