It's Opposite Presidency!

Remember "opposite day" when you were a kid? It's back. For four years. For example, today the President signed an executive order permitting federal funding of embryonic stem cell research.

I don't know what's been more nauseating: the fact that he took this step in spite of its being utterly unnecessary to destroy embryos --as reported in WaPo a mere week ago today.

Or the fact that none of the press happens to mention the fact that Obama rescinded TWO Bush EOs today: the second one promoting alternative stem cell research. That's right kids, Obama --in the name of science, mind you-- just de-funded the kind of research that has been restoring feeling and movement to spinal cord injury patients since 2004. Plus growing new bladders, treating brain cancer, growing new livers, giving a total reprieve from Parkinson's for 4 years.... (Find links to bunches o' cures here.)

And the press dutifully reports this nakedly political, backwards, troglodyte, ignorant and downright evil move as "progress."

And it's called:

REMOVING BARRIERS TO RESPONSIBLE SCIENTIFIC
RESEARCH INVOLVING HUMAN STEM CELLS

Bah. Up goes the chocolate ration once again.
