JP the Great: A Mountain of a Man

|
JP the Great would have been 85 today. Benedict noted it in his weekly audience. Curtsy to CatholicExchange.com for the link. Meanwhile, over at Ignatius Insight (go there today, there's more good stuff), there's a link about celebrations planned to honor the late Pope. RC2 loves this especially:

"Also on May 18, Italian authorities will officially rename an Alpine peak in honor of the late Pope. The 9,500-foot summit is visible from the little church of San Pietro Della Ienca, where the Pope occasionally visited during his summer vacations in the Alpine region. The peak itself will be renamed 'John Paul II;' the hiking path that leads to it will become the 'Wojtyla' path."
