Isn't that a spectacular summary of the parable of the wheat and the weeds (Mt. 13) from this morning's mass? Uttered in his homily this morning by our in-residence priest from Nigeria, whom we adore. A lesson for everyone there. The "orthodox" faithful tend to be hasty --very quick to assume they can tell the wheat from the weeds when in fact people and works must blossom to maturity before we know. The "spirit of Vatican II" faithful tend to forget that judgment does come eventually.
