Iran's New President

|
Um. I'm not sure I see why it should make any difference to anyone if incoming Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was or wasn't one of the takers of our hostages in 1979. Will it affect his policies? I kind of hope it's proven he was a hostage-taker (as seems likely), since this will help us all remember who we're dealing with.
And to all the "experts on Iran" who have taken the line that Ahmadinejad's election is a sobering reminder that democracies will sometimes elect people we don't like, spare me! As the Iranian bloggers have demonstrated, the Iranian papers announced the election results before the vote tallies began in many places. This is the mullahs' hand-picked man.
