Catholic politicians who vote for this legislation must realize that their voting has consequences for their place in the life of the church.The bill is extra-yucky (I believe that's the approved theological term). It not only approves cloning, but also chimeras, genetic mixing (making embryos from material from more than two parents), and using aborted female fetuses as the "moms" for human embryos. A particularly good statement (pdf) from the bishops' conference, too. Polite, but direct.
