Italian parliamentarians rally for Israel

I've been wondering, in the face of the trend sweeping all Western nations to allow angry mobs to riot in the streets, attack police and harass citizens while chanting charming slogans such as "Heil Hitler" and "back to the ovens;" and in face of the pathetic dhimmitude of Western officials: when were we going to see anyone stand up for the Jooooos (who isn't himself Jewish. Most of those mob scenes documented here had accompanying peaceful pro-Israel rallies, but what I wanted to see was decent people standing up to those mobs).

Gateway Pundit has the details on this story. It's taken from Fiamma Nirenstein's blog (she's a new member of the Italian parliament) and the translation's a little stilted, but you'll get the jist:
We didn't expect what you see now in the picture. This is the square of the Italian Parliament in Rome, Piazza Montecitorio: you can see the Palace on top of the square, and in front a lot of Israeli flags. That was yesterday night from 6,30 to 9,30 pm. What you cannot see here is the extraordinary number and variety of members of the Parliament, about 100 from all political sides, that took the stage during our marathon: for about three hours we have been speaking about the role of Israel, its right to self defense, its moral height, its fight in name of all of us, of our civilization and values, against the wild hate of the Islamic jihad represented by hamas.
